New this year is the addition of a three-prize raffle. The raffle ticket sales will begin on Sunday, Oct. 22, after the church service. Raffle tickets are $5.00 each, and the prizes are a beautiful quilt made by Mary Zimmerman, a local gift basket with Preston Bucks, and a festive holiday porch pot. On Oct. 22, we will ask the congregation for volunteers who want to help sell these tickets, and those interested can pick up tickets and instructions that day. We will continue to sell these tickets after each church service from Oct. 22-Nov. 26, and our goal is to sell all 750 tickets.
The flatbread making day will take place on the same day as the lefse baking day which is set for Sat., Oct. 28, beginning at 8am. Please consider joining in and our thanks to Elsa Bye and Lynn Benson for leading the flatbread efforts and to Joyce Every and Linda Wolfe for leading the lefse baking event. Event fliers will go up around the community in early November, and the volunteer sign-up sheet will also be put in the narthex in early November. We have new volunteer roles this year including greeters, courtesy helpers (assisting shoppers with getting their purchases to their car), and holding room attendants. Please consider how you can contribute your time on this day.
A family-fun craft, led by Cheryl Schumacher, will take place on Dec. 2 in one of the Sunday School rooms. Stay tuned for more details.
Thank you for the donations that have come for this event already as we have received some funds and some baskets. The congregation can donate money to the Craft and Bake Sale to make items such as soup mixes, gift baskets, etc. Please keep crafting and planning for how you may contribute items and your time for the sale event.
