Our 2021 Lenten worship services will focus on the national ELCA Lenten theme: 40 Days of Giving.

Food insecurity and hunger were pressing issues before the pandemic and now are even more important to address as many more people in the US and around the world are suffering from hunger. Through ELCA World Hunger, our church creatively and courageously works toward a just world where all are fed. The ELCA hopes that congregations and individual members will set aside donations throughout Lent that will be given to help end hunger. Your generosity is critical to support people around the world facing hunger and poverty.

We will have in-person worship services each Sunday and online services on Wednesday nights at 7:00pm, starting with Holden Evening prayer, then having a discussion of our Lenten Study guides.

Holden Evening Prayer bulletins and digital study guides are available through the links below, or you can pick up a copy of the study guide at church. Our hope is that using Zoom will allow us to have conversation (which we could not do in the sanctuary with social distancing) and enable people to see each other who are not able to attend an in-person Lenten service.

Think of this as a weekly connection point.

We invite you to watch the 13 minute Holden Evening Prayer service
for the start of each Wednesday evening Lenten worship service.

If you watch/sing/worship along with the Holden Evening Prayer service starting at 7:00pm, you will then have time to join us on Zoom for discussion of our 2021 Lenten Study “What will it take to end hunger,” which will begin at 7:15pm each Wednesday. To join using your phone dial (312) 626-6799. The enter meeting ID 864 4638 8243 and passcode 4040.

We will be using the same safety guidelines we used last fall (masks required, 6 feet distance between households, no congregational singing, advising high risk people not to attend, no coffee hour and limiting contact with others, asking anyone who feels sick or has any COVID symptoms to please not attend.) We will also continue to live stream our worship services for those who want to watch from home.

You may join us for online and radio worship services during this time. They will be live streamed at www.facebook.com/christlutheranpreston/live/ and broadcast on KFIL 103.1 FM each Sunday at 10:00am.

Please let us know any questions/ concerns or ideas you have. You can call the office at 756 -2161 or email Pastor Dan or Amanda at pastordan@christlutheranpreston.org, office@christlutheranpreston.org.
