Help Wanted – The church is looking for individual/s that would be interested in helping with minor maintenance and cleaning tasks around the property. This may include, but are not limited to, tasks such as changing light bulbs, repairing broken items as needed, and washing/waxing floors. This would be a paid position. Hours would be variable and flexible. We are also looking for an individual/s who could assist with setting up the Heritage Room prior to funerals. If interested, please speak with Amanda in the office or a church council member.
Blessing of the Bikes and Bike Ride to Sylvan Park, Lanesboro– Sunday June 23, 9am Worship. Be sure to bike, scoot, or blade your way to worship for a special blessing of the bikes! Park your bikes in the lower parking lot and following worship we will head outside and share a blessing for safe and joyful adventures. If you don’t want to bring your entire bike, bring a helmet, lock or photo! Following worship we will bike or motor to Sylvan Park in Lanesboro, where a shelter has been reserved. Bring a dish to pass for the potluck and your own dinnerware. Motorcycles are included in this blessing!
The next Women’s Fellowship group meeting will be on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at 6:30 pm in the Conference Room. We will be discussing Mental Health Awareness and how congregations can play a role in mental health ministry. May was mental health awareness month and millions of Americans have been diagnosed with mental illness. Consider joining us and find out how you can be inspired to reach out to someone living with this condition everyday.
The Prevent 22 Task Force is holding a fundraising event on Saturday, June 22nd at the Servicemen’s Club beginning at 9 am. The event will include several activities and everyone is welcome. The task force was formed to help local Veterans and to highlight awareness to PTSD and suicide prevention. If you would like to donate to the bake sale, please contact Teresa Hoff (teresahoff@hotmail.com). Donated items need to be in disposable containers and can be dropped off at the Club at 8 am or after. Thank you!
Fillmore County Relay for Life will be held in Spring Valley on Friday July 12th. Survivor Tea starts at 3 at the VFW followed by dinner, walk and silent auction throughout the evening. We are looking for volunteers to donate some cookies for dinner. If you are interested in helping out and baking 2-3 dozen cookies for the community dinner please let Marilyn Schreier know at 480-202-3027. Thank you.
