*DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME and Caramel Rolls on March 8th – On Sunday, March 8, time springs forward an hour. Yes, you lose an hour. Coffee helps – and caramel rolls help even more! Our youth will be serving freshly baked caramel rolls as they kick off their Annual Caramel Roll Fundraiser! Come for worship, stay for a sweet treat and support youth ministri
*LENTEN SERVICES AT CHRIST LUTHERAN – Soup Suppers at 6pm, Worship at 6:45 p.m.
Wednesdays – March 11, 18, 25 –The soup supper will begin at 6pm. Dinner will consist of a variety of soups, sandwiches, and bars. A free will donation will be taken. We move upstairs to the Sanctuary for worship at 6:45 p.m. This year’s Lenten series, “Broken and Beloved-Stories of God’s Steadfast Love,” will consider biblical characters whose lives included both brokenness and beloved-ness. You are invited to attend both ministries, or one or the other, depending on your evening schedule. *Sign up sheets are passed around during worship if you are interested in providing kitchen help or food for these Lenten Soup suppers.
*LENT DEVOTIONALS – 2026 Lent Daily Devotionals can be found as a pdf in this email. We will also have some printed and available in the narthex.
*Help beautify our church on Easter Sunday! Preston Floral will be offering spring plants for the Easter Sunday service. The plants will come with colored pot covers, a bow and a card message if you wish. Plants available this year are Easter lilies, tulips, hyacinth, kalanchoe, begonia and cyclamen for $20 each. The deadline for orders is MARCH 9th. Order forms are available at the church or you can call or email Amanda at office@christlutheranpreston.org with your order.
*Line Dancing at Christ Lutheran – Sunday, March 8th from 2-3:30 p.m. Join us in the Fellowship Hall for some good music and fun! Come and learn 2 different dances, led by Harold Buhr. All ages are welcome and no partner is needed.
*March is Foodshare Month! Throughout March, you’ll find a grocery cart in the Narthex ready to receive donations of packaged food or personal care items. Financial gifts are also welcome—please make checks payable to Christ Lutheran and designated for the Food Shelf, or you may donate cash. When the campaign concludes, we will share the total amount of food collected and funds donated. Thank you for helping us care for our community through this important ministry. The 2026 March Campaign will run March 1-April 6, 2026!
*Women’s Fellowship – Please note that the next Women’s Fellowship meeting has been rescheduled to accommodate Lenten suppers and services. We will meet at the church on Tuesday, March 24, 6:30 p.m. Join us as we continue discussing Joan Chittister’s The Gift of Years : Growing Older Gracefully (pages 55-88 for the March meeting).
*CROSS+GENERATIONAL SUNDAY – March 29th, 10-10:45 am – On Palm Sunday, join the Sunday school kids and team for a “spring cleaning” day to do some light cleaning (dusting pews, vacuuming pew cushions, wiping windows, etc.) to help get the church extra ready for Easter. There will also be Holy Week themed games to enjoy.
*April Book Read – From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Braiding Sweetgrass, The Serviceberry by Robin Wall Kimmerer gently invites readers to imagine a world shaped by generosity instead of scarcity. Through the simple beauty of the serviceberry tree, she shows how sharing, gratitude, and care for community can create a richer, more hopeful way of living—together. This short-112-page book is a wonderful read for spring and gardening season. Join us at Nancy Hengeveld’s home for conversation and fellowship on Thursday, April 16th at 6:30 pm.
*“Signs of Spring” Photo Invitation – The month of March includes both lions and lambs, but signs of spring are exciting. What have you seen? I Invite you to send in photos of the first robin, melting snow, or another hopeful moment that signals spring. Email to Amanda Means, office@christlutheranpreston.org and we will post your pictures on the bulletin board.
