We are fortunate to have 4 youth and 1 adult attending the Youth Gathering in New Orleans, July 16-20, 2024. The cost of the Gathering per is $1,600. Each youth has paid $150. The church council has voted to subsidize up to 25% and the youth hope to fundraise the remaining costs, roughly $4,500.

March is Minnesota Foodshare Month – There is an ongoing challenge for individuals and families in our community who are struggling to put food on theirtables. During March Minnesota Food Share Month, yourcontribution will help make a difference in the lives of thosefacing food insecurity and provide them with some relief during challenging times. Suggestions include: canned soups, pasta, rice, beans, peanut butter, sugar, flour, cereal, canned vegetables and fruit, etc.). Monetary donations are also appreciated and can be left in the church office (please indicate Food Shelf). Non-perishable items can be left in the Grocery Cart and/or Basket in the Narthex. Thank you!

*Holy Week Hike, Root River Trailhead – Friday, March 29, 3:00 pm
Join Pastor Kris at the Root River Trailhead parking lot, near the Trailhead Inn, at 3 pm for a Holy Week Hike. On this hike we will use storytelling to wonder about the emotions of Holy Week through a child’s eyes, moving from Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday. This walk will be about 1 and ½ miles, on the biking/hiking trail. Come as you are, stroller and/or hiking sticks welcome! Sign up in the church narthex.
*Breakfast with the Bishop~ Saturday, April 20th, 2024 from 9–11AM at Cabela’s in Owatonna, MN
Everyone, and especially young men, are invited to attend this special event. Dwight Tostenson will be the Keynote Speaker. He is the CEO and Co-founder of The Redemption Project. Dwight will share about the compassionate work his team does with those touched by the criminal justice system. Bishop Regina Hassanally will be sharing a Devotion. Cost: $15/person (under 20 yrs.old $10) Pay Amanda in the church office by April 1st. Carpooling can be a possibility.
*New Sunday Morning Bible Study – You are invited to gather for Bible study each Sunday after worship in the Heritage room. *We will not meet on Easter Sunday*
Confirmation Dinner Church – Wednesday, April 3 – 6:00 -7:15 pm. Parents & siblings or a caring adult and the youth attend confirmation together on our last Dinner Church night. We will enjoy a meal, learn about Baptism and share communion. Dinner church provides a space for parents and youths to connect and grow in faith together during the confirmation experience.
Holy Humor Sunday – April 7th, 2024 ~ 9am. Since the middle ages people have joyfully celebrated the resurrection with a special Sunday, also known as Bright Sunday or Laughter Sunday. G.K. Chesterton once wrote: “Angels can fly because they take themselves lightly. Never forget that the devil fell by force of gravity. He who has the faith has the fun.” Bring your laughter to worship! Needed: clean, fun jokes and a juggler.
Celebrate Sunday School with Good Earth Village!-Sunday, April 14- 9:00 am worship | 10:00 am High Five’s Party |11:00 Lunch (optional). We’ve had a wonderful year of Sunday School and are ready to keep having fun with faith this summer! We will celebrate our great year on April 14 with a High Five’s party, Bible camp style. Nate Johnson from Good Earth Village will be here to welcome you to “camp”. After worship, come downstairs. Nate will lead songs, share a fun skit, help us learn about what it feels like to belong, and end the morning with a campfire, s’mores and more songs. Sunday school will end at the normal time but everyone is invited to stay for lunch. *Parents and other adults – this day is for you, too! Join in the fun. Information will be available to register for summer camp at GEV. (Remember, CLC pays 75% of your camp fee at GEV, you pay only 25%).
