*NEEDED: Caring Adults and Youth to Help with Sunday School
When: Sundays from 10:00-11:00 am
Why: 55 kids are registered!  A large Sunday School program calls for more helpers each Sunday.
What is expected: This year we need every child’s household to support Sunday School by assisting in a classroom at least one hour each semester, and ideally each month. Youth and other adults are also encouraged to volunteer.
How: Please take a look at the sign-up schedule and sign up on a Sunday that works for you. Thank you!

*ATTENTION LEFSE AND FLATBREAD BAKERS! It is time again to bake our lefse for our Craft and Bake Sale. Our first bake day is planned for Saturday, October 25, starting at 8 am in the Fellowship Hall/Kitchen. We’re looking forward to a great turnout and making plenty of lefse. For those preparing lefse, please incorporate the flour and shape into balls before arriving at the church. Elsa and Lynn will make flatbread that day and could use extra help. They have requested air-tight large containers, like popcorn tins, to store the flatbread. If you have any that you could donate to the church, please leave them in the kitchen. All are welcome! If you have questions, feel free to contact: Joyce Every, 507-951-1345, joycekevinevery@gmail.com (lefse) Linda Wolfe, 952-807-5214, lwolfe609@gmail.com (lefse) Lynn Benson, 507-765-2296, arnold049@centurytel.net (flatbread) Elsa Bye, 507-765-2410 (flatbread)

*The Fifth Annual Craft and Bake Sale is on Sat., Dec. 6, 2025. The volunteer sign up sheet is now in the narthex and will be at the raffle sales table each Sunday after church. The Gnome Cafe and kids’ crafting sign up sheets will be posted by the Sunday School supply room. The raffle ticket sales started on 10/26/25, and they are $5.00 each.  They are sold after each Sunday service in the narthex, and winners will be drawn on 12/6/25 at 2pm.  Please refer to the November Ambassador for updates and also get an information sheet in the narthex to see baked good prices, donation drop off times, and more. Thank you for your help!

*Craft and Bake Sale Raffle Ticket Sale – The raffle ticket sales for the annual Craft and Bake Sale will begin on Sunday, Oct. 26, after the church service. We will ask the congregation for volunteers who want to help sell these tickets, and those interested can pick up tickets and instructions that day.  Raffle tickets are $5.00 each. We will continue to sell these tickets after each church service until the day of the sale. Mary Zimmerman has again donated a beautiful quilt for the main prize. Other prizes include handmade fused glass art, fishing rod made by Hoogie Hanson, a decorated wooden sleigh, and a Blackstone omnivore-on-the-go grill. The drawing will be held on the day of the sale, December 6, at 2:00 p.m.

*Pumpkin Fundraiser – 7-12th graders decorated/painted pumpkins on Wednesday, October 22nd at Confirmation and they are on display in the Narthex. Please vote for your favorite pumpkin, using change, cash or check and the proceeds will be donated to the Alaskans devastated by the tsunamis and flooding on the western coast. Donations will be forwarded to the Lutheran Disaster Response for dispersement. Thank You -your generosity makes a difference in God’s world.

*All Saints Sunday – Nov 2 – On All Saints Sunday, November 2nd, we create a space in worship that embraces the saints who have passed as well as those who live among us. *Fall Book Read-Muus vs Muus; Discussion on Monday, Dec 1, 6:30-7:30 pm at the home of Nancy Hengeveld’s. Pastor Bernt Muus is credited as a founder of St. Olaf College in 1874; he also served as its first president.  He was called to Holden Lutheran Church in rural Kenyon MN in 1859 and played a significant role in the broader Minnesota immigrant community and church. He was not without controversy, both personally and professionally. His wife Oline sought a divorce, and their trial presents cultural and legal challenges faced by a Norwegian immigrant couple in 19th-century Minnesota. How does this story provide insight into the lives of Norwegian American immigrants, whose experiences are woven into many of our family histories?  How might their experiences pertain to current immigration issues?  Join us for as we wonder and talk about this book. We will also discuss whether to organize a book club and brainstorm future books to read.  There’s always room for one more!
— Muus vs Muus, authored by Bodil Stenseth, and translated into English by Kari Lie Dorer, et al, is available at local libraries, bookstores, and in a Kindle e-book edition.

*Good Earth Village Lunch & Learn – “Mental Health in the Bible: A Faithful Conversation – Tuesday, October 28th, 11am. Faith and mental health are often seen as separate, but Scripture reveals that God cares deeply about the struggles of the human heart and mind. In this presentation, Carmen Anderson explores how biblical figures wrestled with despair, grief, and even suicidal thoughts. This presentation invites attendees to embrace a more holistic, grace-filled approach to mental health in their own lives and in the church. Sign up in the narthex or pre-register on your own. If you would like to carpool, meet at the church at 10:30 a.m.
