*Baby & Toddler Book Club – Second Sundays – October 11, November 8, December 13 at 10 am. Who is it for? Babies (yes, truly!), toddlers, and preschoolers up to age four—not yet attending Sunday School— and their parents or other caring adults. Led by Shelby Ristau, explore faith through storytelling, prayer, music, and creative play. The Frolic First Bible (given at Baptism) and Frolic board books, create a meaningful experience for you. Plus, families will be given a book to take home!    Scan this QR code to register:

*NEED DRIVERS FOR THE RIDE PROGRAM: With a number of scheduled appointments approaching, our church Ride Program is seeking additional volunteer drivers. Backup drivers are especially helpful to ensure we can meet all transportation needs. Please contact Mike Erdman, 507-995-1933, if you’re willing to assist or have questions.

*Sunday School has started and we are excited for this new year. Additional hands are needed each week, and we invite you to sign up for one or more Sundays as they fit your schedule. Youth grades 7 and above – this opportunity is for you, too! Please scan this QR code to see the calendar, ages where help is needed, and sign-up!

*TRUNK or TREAT – Sunday, October 25th in Christ Lutheran’s Parking Lot, 10-11 am. What is Trunk or Treat?Consider this a cool twist on old-fashioned trick-or-treating. All ages are invited to wear a costume to church. After church, head out to the parking lot for trick or treating. Volunteers will have trunks decorated and be supplied with Halloween treats. Kids will go from car to car for treats and games. Confirmation youth will host games. As always, it’s a great day to invite a friend to church!
Needed:
Decorated Trunks! – There are trunk themes, including Bible related ideas for theme trunks, on the internet.
Sign up in the Narthex.
Candy – Halloween candy for trick or treaters! Please bring candy to church prior to October 20 and drop it off in the box in the Narthex or with Amanda in the office.

*November Book Read – Join us as we read “Boys in the Light”, a powerful true story tracing two parallel journeys in WWII: Eddie Willner, a Jewish teenager surviving Auschwitz, and 23-year-old Elmer Hovland, from Luverne MN, leading Company D of the U.S. 3rd Armored Division. Eddie, his friend, and father; Elmer, and young American soldiers confront the brutal realities of war. Their paths meet in a single unforgettable moment when two emaciated boys step out of the woods, revealing the horrors the tankers had been fighting against. Written by Nina Willner, granddaughter of Eddie, this moving account invites us to reflect on courage, survival, and the resilience of the human spirit. Discussion will be on Thursday, November 19, 6:30 pm at Nancy Hengeveld’s home. All are welcome. Come for thoughtful conversation and shared reflection.

*ATTENTION LEFSE AND FLATBREAD BAKERS! It is time again to bake our lefse for our Craft and Bake Sale. Our first bake day is planned for Saturday, November 7, starting at 8 am in the Fellowship Hall/Kitchen. We’re looking forward to a great turnout and making plenty of lefse. For those preparing lefse, please incorporate the flour and shape into balls before arriving at the church. We also will be making flatbread that day and could use extra help. Please bring tins if you have them.  All are welcome! If you have questions, feel free to contact: Joyce Every, 507-951-1345, joycekevinevery@gmail.com (lefse) or Linda Wolfe, 952-807-5214,
lwolfe609@gmail.com

*Fall Clean Up Day at the Church– Saturday, November 21st from 8am – 11am. We will have some cleaning supplies on hand but volunteers are welcome to bring their own. We will be cleaning windows, doors, wiping down/ dusting tables and other misc. items. We will also be doing a Spring Clean Up, date TBD.

*Fall Communion Instruction– (For children younger or older than 5th grade). If you and your child discern they are ready for Holy Communion, register using this QR code and pick up the Holy Communion workbook from Pastor Kris. Parents and children complete the lessons together at home.

*WOW Night & Pumpkin Decorating – Wednesday, October 21st at 6pm. Youth in grades 10-12 are invited to join the Confirmation class for a meal and then we will be decorating pumpkins for the Pumpkin Fundraiser on Oct. 25th, when the congregation will vote for their favorites! CONGREGATION: you are invited to vote for your favorite pumpkin with monetary donations after worship on the 25th.

*You’re Invited! Preston Pool Referendum Public Meetings-Sept. 28: 11am-1pm; Oct. 6: 4pm-6pm; Oct. 11: 1pm-4pm.
All meetings are held at the Preston Depot Museum and Riverfront Center.  Three conceptual designs will be presented, public feedback collected, and questions answered/information provided about the project and referendum and how it will affect taxpayers. Please spread the word, and everyone is invited to learn about this potential new pool, even if you don’t live in City limits.
