*LENTEN SERVICES AT CHRIST LUTHERAN – Soup Suppers at 6pm, Worship at 6:45 p.m.
Wednesdays – Feb 25, March 4, 11, 18, 25 –The soup supper will begin at 6pm. Dinner will consist of a variety of soups, sandwiches, and bars. A free will donation will be taken. We move upstairs to the Sanctuary for worship at 6:45 p.m. This year’s Lenten series, “Broken and Beloved-Stories of God’s Steadfast Love,” will consider biblical characters whose lives included both brokenness and beloved-ness. You are invited to attend both ministries, or one or the other, depending on your evening schedule. *Sign up sheets are passed around during worship if you are interested in providing kitchen help or food for these Lenten Soup suppers.
*LENT DEVOTIONALS – 2026 Lent Daily Devotionals can be found as a pdf in this email. We will also have some printed and available in the narthex beginning Sunday, Feb 15.
*Ushers for Lent–We are looking for a couple more people who could usher at the Lenten services, 6:45pm (would only have to do it every other week). Please contact Amanda if you are interested!
*February Book Read – “Short Stories by Jesus” – Thursday, Feb. 19th at 6:30 at Nancy Hengeveld’s – Jesus used everyday parables to convey deep meaning in his storytelling and modern readers often miss first-century culture and context. In Short Stories by Jesus, Amy Jill-Levine reconstructs the original Jewish context and shows the parables aren’t only about Jesus but about us—provocative ethical teachings that still challenge and unsettle contemporary readers. This book was selected by those who attended the January CLC book read. All are invited to gather for the discussion. We look forward to welcoming you!
*EVANGELISM & SOCIAL OUTREACH TEAM – Do you have a heart for service and community connection? Consider joining our Evangelism & Social Outreach Team. This ministry offers a meaningful way to engage in the church and make a difference in the lives of others. For more information or to get involved, please contact council member Amanda Heibel at ama_heibel@yahoo.com
*Women’s Fellowship-Please note that the next two Women’s Fellowship meetings have been rescheduled to accommodate Lenten suppers and services. *Kitchen Items for Sale-Numerous items from past church dinners—including electric warming dishes, Sterno chafing dishes, and miscellaneous kitchenware—are available for purchase on a table near the kitchen. Prices are marked. Please contact Janet Erdman (612-756-1578) or Mary Zimmerman (507-251-6807) with questions or to purchase.
