swimming, and fishing in the BWCAW and on the North Shore!
Locations: Sawbill Campground in Superior National Forest (Tofte MN) and Temperance State Park
Trip Plan: We will camp the first three nights in the Sawbill National Forest Campground. This campground features camping on a lake that enters the BWCAW, has beautiful campsites, a concessionaire onsite for additional canoes or equipment if needed, showers (campers pay the shower fee ($5/shower, $5.50 if you want a towel), or you can jump into the lake with biodegradable soap! On the last day and night, we hope to get sites at Temperance State Park where we will camp on the shore of Lake Superior. The waterfalls and trails along the lake at this park are super fun. Canoe packs and gear, and all other BWCAW equipment will be provided.
DATES: Tuesday, August 5 – Saturday, August 9
Cost: $225/per person. This fee covers transportation, equipment, USFS fees, food for the days and nights we are camping, campsite fees, and chaperones’ expenses. Parent Leaders will organize fundraisers to support all youth attending the camp.
IMPORTANT: The fee is based on 7 youth and 2 adults. If there are more than 7 youth, additional adult leaders will be needed. First come, first registered. With additional adults, more youth can go. The fee may increase based on additional transportation costs.
Nonrefundable Down Payment: A $60 nonrefundable fee is required with your registration and the remaining fee will be offset by fundraisers. College youth who are unable to participate in fundraisers during the school year will be able to host fundraisers in June or pay the full fee. High School youth are expected to participate in fundraisers.
