We want to welcome you to Christ Lutheran Church.
The purpose of our church is simple; we are here to love god, love people and follow Jesus. We accomplish these things by learning to live a balanced life that grows up, in and out.
We seek to grow upward in our relationship with god through worship, bible study and prayer. We seek to grow inward in our relationship with each other through small groups, meals, fun events and Sunday morning fellowship. We seek to grow outward in our relationship with the world through intentional acts of service to our neighbors and community.
We pray for our church to be a place where people experience the love and grace of god, grow in faith, establish life-long friendships, find practical help for life, discover and use their spiritual gifts, and reach out to serve the world in the name of Jesus Christ. If you are looking for church home, we hope you will consider becoming part of our community. However, we want to be clear that we are not in competition with other churches, but see ourselves as one part of the larger body of Christ. Our prayer is that you will find a fellowship of believers in Christ where you can experience god’s amazing grace, worship the lord, grow in faith, and serve your neighbor in love.
Since relationships are so important to the Christian life, we encourage you to regularly attend worship services and participate in a small group, mission team or class. We also hope you will find ways to share your gifts by caring for people in our community, joining a service group, visiting team or lay ministry, and by generously giving back what god has first given to you. Know that we are more concerned with how many people we send out our doors in service than how many come in our door to our worship services.
We invite you to view this video to give you an idea of our vision for what the church can be. We think this is a great, simple illustration of what the church is meant to look like. Now that you have seen and read some of our vision for ministry, are you willing to help Christ Lutheran build a culture of discipleship and mission? Are you interested in learning more about what it means to be a family on mission together instead of individuals who occasionally get together for worship services? Do you want to explore how to be the church and not just go to church? If so, please make time to talk with Pastor Dan, he would love to continue the conversation.
Finally, whatever your past spiritual or church experience may have been—even if you have never set foot in a church building before visiting us—we want you to know that you are welcome at Christ Lutheran Church. We would love to get to know you and our hope is that your first experience on our website will be just the beginning of a great relationship. Please join us as we seek to live out our faith each and every day, praying for god’s kingdom to come and god’s will to be done in Preston as it is in heaven.
